What are lab-grown diamonds?

Just as its name suggests, it is a real diamond created in a lab. They’re formed using cutting-edge technology to replicate the exact natural condition that forms diamonds underground. This is what made the diamonds to have the same sparkle, durability, and quality as mined diamonds, but some with a clear advantage: they’re entirely mining-free, significantly reducing environmental harm.

Why Lab-Grown Diamonds

The origins of lab-grown diamonds are well documented and transparent, providing peace of mind and assurance about the ethical and sustainable nature of purchase.

Lab-grown diamonds are typically more affordable than mined diamonds, allowing you to enjoy the same brilliance and beauty without a hefty price tag.

Our lab-grown diamonds are created without causing harm to ecosystems or habitats, making them ethical and guilt-free choices.

Precise control over the quality, purity, cut, and colour of diamonds, ensuring a consistent excellence product.

Do Lab-Grown Diamonds Count as Real?

Yes! Lab-grown diamonds are authentic diamonds, created with precision and innovation. Unlike stimulants or imitations, these diamonds possess the same physical, chemical, and optical properties as natural diamonds. The main difference? Their origin. Instead of forming over billions of years beneath the Earth’s surface, lab-grown diamonds are cultivated in advanced laboratories, where conditions that naturally create diamonds are expertly reproduced. This process ensures each lab-grown diamond is equally real, enduring, and brilliant as those found in nature. Curious about the fascinating process behind their creation? Discover more in the next section below.

Do Lab-Grown Diamonds Count as Real?

Lab-grown diamonds are created using two main methods that replicate the natural conditions under which diamonds form in the Earth.

High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT)

Lab-grown diamonds using the HPHT method begin with a small diamond seed that acts as a tiny template. This seed is placed in a chamber where extreme pressure and temperature are applied, simulating conditions deep within the earth. Carbon, the building block of diamonds, is introduced and bonds with the seed, gradually growing into a larger diamond.

 Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD)

In the CVD method, a diamond seed may be used, but it is optional. The seed is placed in a vacuum chamber filled with carbon-rich gases. The gases are energised, causing carbon atoms to deposit onto the seed and crystallise into diamond. This process creates diamonds that are virtually identical to natural ones and allows for precise control over the diamond’s characteristics.

Customisation: What’s Possible?

Lab-grown diamonds offer a high degree of customisation, both in terms of the physical characteristics of the stones and their aesthetic qualities.

Shape and Cut

There are wide variety of shapes and cuts for lab-grown diamonds. Popular options include round brilliant. Princess, emeralds, pear, oval and more. You can also request custom cuts to achieve unique look.

Size and Carat Weight

Lab-grown diamonds can be produced in various sizes, from small accent stones to large centrepieces. You can specify the exact carat weight you desire.

Colour

Lab-grown diamonds come in a spectrum of colours. You can select from colourless (D-F grade) to near-colourless (G-H grade), or even fancy colours such as pink, blue, yellow, and green, depending on the lab’s capabilities.

Clarity

You can choose the clarity of your diamond, which ranges from flawless to those with minor inclusions. Lab-grown diamonds often have fewer inclusions that natural diamonds, offering high clarity options.
